LIVE TWO WAY VOICE!

A MAJOR ADVANCEMENT FOR THE NORTH

We may not like the figures, but nearly 5% of all break-ins end in violence. Of those, 50% are rape. Most heart attacks, choking accidents and bathtub falls happen in the home. Only True Steel offers a special local service that greatly enhances your alarm systems ability to save lives and stop intruders. It is an alarm activated direct intercom between your home and our dispatchers. As soon as your system goes into alarm our monitoring centre is in instant voice communication throughout your home. Burglars are stopped. Accident victims are calmed. Most important of all, at a time when authorities are becoming more and more sensitive to false alarms, True Steel Security can often verify alarms. Police respond faster. Medics speed to the home. (No wonder police chiefs, firemen, and medics install two-way voice in their own homes.)

The two-way voice module can easily be added to any existing system. Now when your system goes into alarm, our dispatchers are able to hear everything that goes on, as well as speak to you wherever you are in the home. It is hands free. You don’t need to go to the phone or the keypad. If there is an intruder, they are quickly spooked by the live voice of the dispatchers. Just having somebody talk to them also makes them feel that they are being watched, or even videotaped. It allows us to verify a break and enter and gives it a higher priority for police response. It becomes a life saving feature should you ever find yourself in a hostile situation. The would be attacker is now in a live conversation with an authority figure (monitoring station dispatcher) and is more likely to turn and run, rather than attack. Two way voice can also save your life in a fire situation and is invaluable for elderly or medically challenged people who may often live or be alone for parts of the day.

Two-way voice is simple and inexpensive. We are so excited about two way voice that we are willing to come out to your home and do a live demonstration just for you. The entire demonstration takes only minutes. This way you will truly know the power of two way voice, and be in a better position to decide if it is of value to you in your home. We will be the educator, you be the decision maker.

**Everyone who calls in and has us come out and do a live demo during April and May will become eligible for a draw to win their choice of a two way voice unit or a monitored smoke sensor**

KNOWING COULD SAVE
YOUR LIFE

If your siren started screaming in the middle of the night, would you and your family know whether it was a burglar or fire alarm? They do make different sounds, and knowing the difference could save your life. If you mistakenly thought it was the fire alarm and went running down the hall you could come face to face with an intruder. This could result in a physical confrontation. If you mistakenly thought it was a burglar alarm and stayed in your bed, the fire could spread so rapidly that it might trap you in there by the time you figure out what is really happening. Make certain that you take the time to test your system with all your family members present, so everyone can learn to distinguish between the two sirens. Whenever you test your system, make certain you contact the monitoring station in advance with your proper identification code, and have them disregard the signal while you are testing. Then simply arm your system and set off the burglar alarm. Once you have listened to it for a moment, reset your system and test the fire sensor so that you can now recognize the difference between the two. Having a plan in place for you and your family so that each member knows what to do when they hear either alarm is very important. Watch for articles detailing this in our upcoming issues.

BACK UP BATTERY SAVES HOME
FROM B & E!
HOW IS YOUR BATTERY?

A recent Sudbury Star article told the story of how a burglary attempt
was foiled by the alarm system’s back up battery. If your system is four
years  old or more  and you have not changed your battery, do not
procrastinate until it’s too late. Call us now!

FALSE ALARM REDUCTION TIP OF THE MONTH

False alarms result in a tremendous financial cost to society, and threaten
the safety of police officers. Too many false alarms and police may tend
to relax too much and “let their guard down”, resulting in a potentially
life threatening situation.

True Steel and their clients have a low false alarm rate.
Let’s work at keeping it that way.

“Correct all drafts that may move plants and curtains,
both may cause false alarms”
