Taking Care of You, Your Family and Your Home
Sudbury · North Bay · Timmins
We are extremely proud to send you the first issue of “True Steel News” (TS
News). The purpose of TS News is to continually provide you with
practical ideas and means to protect your family, your home and your business.
We will strive to make certain every issue deals with topics that are of
interest and benefit to Northern Ontario residents. True Steel Security sells
Life-Saving Alarm Systems. But our product offering goes far beyond
that:
We provide peace of mind! We help people understand what has to be done to
protect people and property. We help people understand that an alarm system,
although important, is only one part of the security picture. In short, we are
in the education business; helping you understand what you can do to deter and
detect threats to your family and property. TS News will be a valuable
tool for this continuous education process. Never miss an issue! You will never
know which piece of information could end up saving your life, or the life of a
loved one! It gives us a real sense of contribution to make this available to
you. So, read on and have a safe and happy holiday season.

DOES YOUR SYSTEM PROTECT:
PROPERTY? PEOPLE? OR BOTH?
True Steel Security promotes Life-Saving Alarm Systems! This may sound
like a pretty big claim to you! Most people think of an alarm system as being
strictly for detecting burglars and protecting physical property. Although an
important role, it certainly is only one role that a properly designed system
should play. We believe strongly that a system should protect both people and
property. If you asked us which is most important, I think our answer would be
the same as yours: People first! Property second! Here is a list of questions
you should ask yourself about your system:
1) Does your system operate when you are at home/work, as well as when you are
away?
2) Do certain parts of your system operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week?
3) Does your system detect intruders after they are in your home/business, or is
detection made while they are still on the outside?
4) Does your system have integrated fire detection?
5) Are your sirens loud enough to wake you up anywhere in the home?
6) Are the sirens for fire and intrusion significantly different, and do you and
your family/staff know the difference between the two?
7) Do you and
your family/staff know what to do when your fire alarm sounds? What about when
your burglar alarm sounds?
8) Do you have
a portable panic pendant that you carry with you when you are alone?
9) Are you
directly linked to a monitoring station?
10) Does your
system have the ability to transmit different signals to the monitoring station
for fire, burglary, and panic?
11) Are you
educated on the life saving features of your current system?
We will be addressing all of these topics and more
in our upcoming publications. Should you have any immediate concerns regarding
any of the questions raised, please let us know and we will have a
representative contact you immediately.
CHRISTMAS SAFETY
Here are a few tips for a safe
holiday:
1. Check Christmas lights for cracking, pealing or broken insulation.
2. Never use indoor lights or extension cords for outside applications.
3. Avoid placing extension cords in high traffic areas.
4. Do not burn your Christmas tree or wrapping paper in the fireplace.
5. If you are away for the holidays, have a neighbour park their car in
your driveway and pick-up your mail and newspapers.
